Digital Content Strategist & Founder of AARK Media. I help brands grow on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts through short-form video, AI-powered workflows, and data-backed creative strategy.
See my work ↓The creator had a genuine, engaged following built around sustainability content, but their existing videos lacked production quality and structure — loose editing, no clear hooks, and inconsistent pacing that caused viewers to drop off early.
They also needed to produce product promotion videos for brand partnerships that felt native to their feed rather than forced or overly commercial.
Produced and edited a series of high-retention Reels using NLE software — opening with a strong hook in the first 2 seconds, structuring the middle for watch time, and closing with a clear CTA aligned to each video's goal.
For the product promotion videos, I developed a native-feel script framework that wove the product naturally into the creator's existing content style, keeping it authentic to their sustainability brand positioning.
Applied colour grading and sound design to elevate the visual quality and match the warm, earthy aesthetic of the creator's identity.
Pre-production: Creative brief, scriptwriting, storyboarding
Production: Direction, filming guidance, asset coordination
Post-production: NLE editing, colour grading, sound design, captions
Strategy: Hook testing, format selection, CTA structure
The 50K video used a pattern-interrupt hook in the first 1.5 seconds — an unconventional opening frame that stopped the scroll. That single structural decision was the biggest driver of the view count difference between this video and previous content on the account.
Rather than committing to one niche from day one, I used my personal accounts as a live testing environment — deliberately experimenting across photography content, day-in-the-life vlogs, and trend-based meme videos to understand the mechanics of reach on each platform.
The goal was not vanity metrics, but actionable insight I could apply directly to client work.
Format 1 — Photography showcase: Cinematic transitions, colour-graded photo sequences with ambient sound. Strong aesthetics, modest reach.
Format 2 — Day-in-the-life: Authentic, low-edit lifestyle content. Higher completion rates but slow follower conversion.
Format 3 — Meme / trend video: Leveraged a trending audio and culturally relevant format. Produced the highest-reaching video across all experiments — 300K+ views — confirming the outsized impact of trend timing and cultural relevance on organic reach.
Reach ≠ retention. The 300K meme video drove views but not followers — because the content wasn't tied to a consistent identity. Viral moments without a content system don't compound.
The real insight: Sustainable growth requires pairing trend-aware content with a clear niche and consistent posting cadence — which is exactly the system I now build for clients.
Most strategists theorize about what works. I've tested it firsthand — including the failures. Understanding why a 300K-view video didn't translate to growth is more valuable than a chart that only shows wins. That's the difference between someone who posts content and someone who builds a content strategy.
